Since we ditched the cable the family has upped our Netflix membership. We watch movies a lot now. I prefer movie viewing to tv viewing. Why? With our lighting dimmed low and most of us on the couch we share the experience of visual storytelling.
And I love Netflix. Our town does have a video rental store and a Redbox kiosk but the movies I prefer are not available there. I love Hitchcock - Notorious, Spellbound, Vertigo, Rear Window...classics. I'm trying to get the kids to appreciate these films but the minute they see "black and white" there's a big sigh and yawn. A bonus with the netflix membership (and this is not a paid endorsement) is the hours you get to view movies on line. Dave's watching the BBC House of Cards series and I get season 1 and 2 of Ballykissangel.
The only thing negative about Netflix...when someone subscribes from my recommendation, they get a month free...not me! So check them out!

another perk of netflix is the great reviews of all the movies. sometimes they give you a better idea of the appropriateness of a movie than pluggedinonline.com
I love that about Netflix. And if you like mysteries, start getting Foyle's War, a murder mystery series set during WWII in south Britain. FABULOUS. We're addicted to it. In fact, we just got the most recent one in the mail!

The only thing I HATE about Netflix is that creepy disgusting pop-up ad with the guy who has the gross yellow teeth.

I've never noticed him...maybe he's just on your netflix, which makes it creepier!
nope-he's on mine, too. in fact, it think there are two of them...weird.
