Mmmmm! I love mozarella, basil, and tomato with olive oil. :)

I've enjoyed this senses series you've done. Lovely.

Just before I read your post, I started a short break - to up the blood sugar level - and sunk my teeth into a Dove dark chocolate bar.

Hey, it was on sale at the local supermarket and I bought a few...

- Have you tried Extreme Moose Tracks 'Alaskan Classics' ice cream, by Safeway Select? (It tastes like chocolate mousse. Not moose.)

- Ferghana valley melon, with a bit of fresh cream poured over it. (When Babur left to conquer India he missed the melons back home so much he had them included in the murals that decorated his palaces).

- Walker's shortbread

Ahh, tastes, so satisfying, so alluring, so many memories. The smell of cherries takes me back to Poland and Uzbekistan... cherry compote. I forgot to include that one. Is taste the strongest most emotionally-charged sense we have?

Oh, Central Asia memories like fresh naan for breakfast, still warm from the tandoor, dipped in raspberry jam, and accompanied by hot tea?

And a good lassi in a dark, quiet restaurant, an afternoon break from a loud Indian city full of honking horns?

There are some other tastes from those places that are not so appealing, of course.

(I think people say smell is actually the most emotionally charged of our senses.)
