Friday Feasts: Cappuchino Nutella Bread

Nutella - because God likes us. That's why we have Nutella. If you've ever had Nutella you'd agree. If you haven't - get thee to the store right now, purchase a jar, bring it home and with a spoon it hand open the jar and dig in. Now lick that spoon clean, completely. Down a glass of milk and go in for another scoop. Nutella - God gave us chocolate and hazelnuts because He likes us!

Now here is my version of the most perfect coffee cake - made with coffee and the most perfect nonessential food - Nutella.I concocted this recipe for the Pillsbury Cook-off which I didn't win.

Combination of of strong coffee and half/half which equals one cup, heated to 110-115 degrees
3 heaping teaspoons brown sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons yeast
Combine and let sit 10 minutes to ensure yeast is alive. Mixture should bubble.
Add
1 t. salt
2 1/2 C. flour
1 egg
mix with dough hook and add more flour til dough is no longer sticky. Mix for 5 minutes. Take out of bowl. Spray bowl with cooking spray. Put dough back in bowl. Spray top with cooking spray. Cover for 1 hour.
Punch dough down and let rest for 10 minutes. Now roll dough out to rectangle, 8x24 inches. You may need to flour your board and rolling pin. Spread most of the nutella over the dough, completely - to the edges. You probably won't use all the nutella. There should be enough for 1-2 sandwiches.Roll up, longer-side, as you would cinnamon rolls. Now because this is special bread it demands a special look. You could cut individual rolls (like cinnamon buns). You could roll out the dough to 8x10 for a loaf pan size. I roll it out larger then twist the bread in a spiral in a pie pan.
Let this rest for one hour. Now, go exercise because you need to be proactive in exercising off those calories you will consume when eating this bread.
Preheat oven to 350.Bake bread for 25-30 minutes. Let cool.
Make icing - though Dave prefers his bread without icing but I think it needs it:
powdered sugar
milk or half/half
Combine these two until they are smooth but not too runny. Yeah, I know, I don't have precise measurements. But use 2 C. sugar and just a wee bit of milk adding slowly and mixing thoroughly before adding more. Drizzle the icing over the cooled bread. Cut, enjoy, work out!

i've never had nutella! All I've heard is that it's amazing and so fattening... so I haven't splurged and probably won't. I definitely don't need another temptation!!!! I already have tons!
