Bond: I think you made your point. Thank you for the demonstration.
Goldfinger: Choose your next witticism carefully Mr. Bond, it may be your last.
Bond: Do you expect me to talk, Goldfinger?
Goldfinger: No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!
But there's one thing more to be said, even so. Suppose we have only dreamed, or made up, all those things -- trees and grass and sun and moon and stars and Aslan himself. Suppose we have. Then all I can say is that, in that case, the made-up things seem a good deal more important than the real ones.

All the more reason to buy local and organic at your farmers' markets, if you can. The prices and quality of the food are much better and you're supporting your local economy.
Again, the key is if you can.

No farmer's markets around here!
I guess there's always the mail order route, though that is terribly expensive for some fruit. A couple of years ago I discovered frozen fruit and then read that it can be fresher than what you get from the supermarket produce department, because it's picked when it's fresh (not before like so many things) and then immediately frozen/processed. I found this to be so true of peaches and berries. Of course if I need them for the look of the fruit I can just get a small container of the fresh ones. but best of all, no stickers :)
What's really bad is finding those little stickers in pieces in your fruit salad!
I agree - just about any sticker on a product is annoying, since removal can be nearly impossible.
As to lasers - well, many eyes and knees these days are repaired by lasers and seem to be doing alright...
