The Simple Woman's Daybook - August 25, 2008

Outside my window are trucks rolling by in the distance and kids walking to school. The sun is shining and it's going to be another glorious day!

I am thinking I'd like to kill our cat! No, not really but seriously this feline is not learning her lessons. We spray her with water just we catch her on the kitchen counters/tables/tearing up the sheers. The problem is when we don't catch her and we forgot to put something away, like chips, bread, cereal. The next day that food item ends up on the floor. What do we do to stop this madness!!!????

From the learning room (new entry because homeschooling started) we are hoping (mostly I am) that this week we get into the good routine. It's so easy to slack off and believe that I'm actually ramping up to a school schedule. But it's like going col turkey-I need to just drop all those extraneous summer trivial routines and focus on school, school alone. Last year I dropped reading aloud to Aidan and I sorely missed it so it's back on the docket with The Count of Monte Cristo.

I am thankful for a healthy family and kids who seem to enjoy their parents and kids I enjoy.

From the kitchen not much is coming out of there since our Women's Annual Gathering (kicking off the women's Bible studies for the year) is tonight.

I am wearing my nightgown still. It's a tad early - too early to dress.

I am reading my mother-in-laws new blog. Visit her and enjoy: Finishing Well: A Question or a Statement

I am hoping I have at least 5 days, hopefully 6 of exercising this week. I started off well last week after nearly 2 1/2 months of little to none. I find as I age, mature like a fine wine, I need to exercise more than want to.

I am hearing my daughter pacing as she waits for her older brother to drive the both of them to school.

I am creating a new year of homeschooling for Aidan (6th/7th grade) and Liam (preK)

Around the house are some sleeping and some getting ready for the day.

One of my favorite things is reading to Aidan on the couch. Even though he doesn't enjoy nor appreciate it I love doing "voices" for the various characters.

A few plans for the rest of the week are to have a good, full week of homeschooling everyday.

Here is a picture-thought I am sharing with you - Ian, Liam and cousin Devin at the Johnson Space Center in Houston.
