The Senses of Autumn

The Fall is a very sensual time of the year. Walking outside I am quickly reminded of the gift God gave us with our senses. The next few blog entries I will be sharing those things which I appreciate in the area of smell, touch, taste, sight and sound. Please join in!

Freshly baked bread

Liam's head after a bath
Freshly mown grass
Rain
Coffee
Emma's Chocolate Chip Cookies
Freshly laundered Sheets
Coconut
Raspberries

Fresh dill in the grocery store...reminding me of times gone by...canning dill pickles. Also the scent of "Old Spice",wood burning fireplaces, the scent of pine in the Colorado mountains...just to name a few.

TASTES/SMELLS

cider on the stove
tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches

SIGHTS
colorful trees
swirling leaves
autumn sunlight
football practice
marching bands
school supplies

FEELINGS
cold bright mornings
first snow (though we haven't had that yet!)
flannel sheets (still in the linen closet - CO temps hit 80 yesterday but expected to fall this weekend...)

The smell of Apple Butter cooking in the crock pot
